VoIP (Internet Telephony)
Much hype and misunderstanding surrounds VoIP. It is not a completely free way of making calls (yet) and it is also not a poor quality cousin of the BT phone lines we are all used to. Voice quality of VoIP is the same as a normal telephone line if you do not believe that, ring us and listen we use it ourselves!
Your existing phone system is already a computer device which is programmed by your telecommunications provider with archaic number sequences which tell it how to route calls from an incoming signal to a handset, or from handset to handset.
As the end user you would expect to pay a fairly considerable maintenance fee to your telecoms maintainer, and for this they may include a service for which they can move extensions, change ring groups or alter various other items of the system.
What our ic-talk system does is make this easy for you to do yourselves, slashing maintenance costs and increasing flexibility for you.
Do you have multiple locations? If you do there is a strong chance you have them linked up via VPN so your computers can talk to each other. If so, then why not use that same line to carry your voice traffic and cut call costs between your offices to zero?
Better still, if you are calling one of the thousands of companies who are also on VoIP, the call is free of charge. If they are not, the tariff for break out calls, which are calls which start as VoIP and end on a non-VoIP phone, are usually cheaper than standard rates.
Should you wish to come and see the system in action at our offices please do let us know.
