Greenfrog assist Police Cyber Crime Unit

Greenfrog were recently approached by the Police Cyber Crime unit to assist in a ransomware incident.
In this case the attackers found a loophole and broke into the system, encrypting the customer’s data.
Greenfrog were not directly involved in the day-to-day running of the system, however the client had retained us for backup.  We were therefore able to completely recover all the customer data.

We are advising all our customers of the necessity of a solid, robust backup, as well as regular security reviews to discover and plug any loopholes.
